Veterinary acupuncture
The goal of acupuncture is to promote the body to heal itself. Acupuncture is a tool that can considerably improve pain management in a safe yet effective manner. It involves the insertion of needles into body tissue where nerve bundles and blood vessels come together. These groups of nervous and vascular tissue are termed acupuncture points. With acupuncture, we can help control an animal’s pain for other reasons conventional medications were either insufficient at doing so or contraindicated. Even more so, acupuncture has the ability to help manage many chronic medical conditions. Where traditional medicine reaches its limits and can play a role on a pet’s vital organs, acupuncture can often go further, to help mediate the condition thereby extending and improving our patients’ quality of life. Our clinic offers a certified veterinary acupuncturist in Western New York. Dr. Garofalo has been certified in veterinary acupuncture. She has quite a following of patients who swear by her ability to move their Qi. When your pet is in pain, so are you, and that is why Cornerstone Veterinary Clinic provides safe, pain-relieving acupuncture for your pet. Appointment Policy
To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment.
Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable.
Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.
For your convenience, drop-off appointments are available.
A "drop off" means you could bring your pet at the time that works best for you and leave him/her with us for a couple of hours.
Usually we will ask you to drop off sometime in the morning so our doctors can examine the patient in between appointments or at the time purposely reserved for admitted patients.
Once the doctor is done, they will give you a call to go over the diagnosis and to give you discharge instructions.
New clients/patient are recomended to come 10 minutes prior to their schedule appointment to verify information.
Please send or bring their records 48 hours prior to schedule appointment from previous veterinary care.
For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that all vaccinations be up to date.
All animal that don't have a record of an updated rabies vaccination will be required to get one per New York State Law.
Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits,
they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets.
This is one of the reasons we ask you to restrain your pet.
We recommend that animals be placed on a 4 to 6 foot lead or in pet carriers before entering the waiting room.

Payment Policy
We require full payment at the time that services are rendered.
For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, cash and personal checks.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer any payment plans.
Please let us know when you call or check-in at the desk if you have a financial limit for your visit.
We will do our best to prioritize which services your pet receives to stay within your means.
New clients/patients may need to place a deposit for their schedule appointment.

Patient Arrival Policy
For your protection, and that of others, all dogs must be on a 4 to 6 foot lead and properly controlled while in the waiting area or exam rooms.
All cats must be presented in an appropriate cat carrier or on a 4 to 6 foot lead.
It can help to get your cat into the carrier by placing them in backward (tail first).
Nervous cats appreciate a towel or blanket placed over their carrier for added privacy.
Please place the carrier on the bench in the waiting area rather than the floor to keep your cat above most dogs.
All exotic pets must be confined to a pet carrier, cage, cardboard box or pillow case depending on species.
Feel free to call for suggestions if needed.
If you arrive more than 15 minutes after your scheduled appointment time we may need to reschedule your appointment.
Please call before arriving as a walk-in appointment.
We appreciate this courtesy as it allows us to be better prepared to handle emergencies and can help minimize your wait by letting you know if a doctor is available to see your pet at this time.
